VALENCIA
Alves,Pereira, Rami, Ruiz, Mathieu ,Albelda, T Costa,Feghouli, Jonas, Guardado,Soldado

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol remains doubtful for Sunday's Primera Division encounter against Valencia with a cheekbone injury.

The Catalans, who will have coach Tito Vilanova barred from the dugout, could also be without right-back Dani Alves, after the Brazilian picked up a knock prior to Wednesday's Supercopa defeat at Real Madrid.

However, young midfielder Thiago has finally overcome a tibia injury that kept him out of the Olympics and is fit to play.

Valencia summer signing Fernando Gago faces a late fitness test, so David Albelda may make his first appearance of the season.

Also set for a start is French defender Adil Rami, who will deputise for the suspended Ricardo Costa.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS
LIVERPOOL
Reina,Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique,Sahin, Gerrard, Allen ,Downing, Suarez, Sterling

ARSENAL
Mannone,Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs,Cazorla, Arteta, Diaby,Gervinho, Giroud, Podolski

Nuri Sahin is set to make his Liverpool debut in the heart of midfield after Lucas (thigh) was ruled out for up to three months after hobbling off in the opening stages of the 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

Daniel Agger is likely to return from suspension to replace Sebastian Coates in defence but youngster Raheem Sterling is poised to make another start having impressed against Roberto Mancini's side last time out.

For Arsenal, Vito Mannone could continue to deputise in goal with Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Fabianski both still struggling for match fitness.

Bacary Sagna's long-term leg injury means Carl Jenkinson will again step in at right-back, with the France defender set to return to training after the upcoming international break. Fellow international team-mate Laurent Koscielny (calf) faces a late fitness test.

The continuing transfer speculation surrounding Theo Walcott could mean that Gervinho will again feature from the start, in support of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, while Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain should appear from the bench.

Jack Wilshere (ankle), Emmanuel Frimpong (knee) and Tomas Rosicky (thigh) all remain long-term absentees.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS

SOUTHAMPTON Davis,Clyne, Hooiveld, Fonte, Fox,Davis, Schneiderlin, Lallana,Rodriguez, Lambert, Lee

MANCHESTER UNITED
De Gea,Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra,Cleverley, Carrick,Valencia, Kagawa, Nani,Van Persie

Southampton could well revert to the 4-3-3 system which served them so well against champions Manchester City on the opening day, with Championship Player of the Year Rickie Lambert expected to lead the line supported by Jay Rodriguez and Tadanari Lee out wide.

Guly Do Prado is expected to be left out of the squad following his off-the-field indiscretions, while new signings Maya Yoshida and Gaston Ramirez are unlikely to start, but could well feature in the Saints squad.

Manchester United are expected to name the same side which beat Fulham 3-2 last Saturday. Jonny Evans made a full comeback in the reserves mid-week but is unlikely to be fit enough to return to first-team duties, meaning Michael Carrick will continue alongside Nemanja Vidic at centre-back.

With Wayne Rooney sidelined for the next month, Robin van Persie will almost certainly start at the head of a four-pronged forward line, with Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa forming the attacking fulcrum of the midfield.
